About Lumen Baccarat
Lumen Baccarat is punto banco, the most common form of baccarat. Two hands are dealt, one called Player and one called Banker, and you choose which you think will finish closer to nine, or whether they will tie. You never play either hand yourself: every card is drawn by fixed rules, so the only decision is where your chips go.
Cards count at face value from ace (one) to nine; tens and picture cards count nothing. Only the last digit of a total matters, so a seven and an eight make five, not fifteen. A two-card eight or nine is a natural, and the hand stops there.
How to play
- Pick a chip size, then click Player, Banker or Tie to place chips. Click again to add more.
- Press Deal. Your chips come off your points and two cards go to each hand.
- The third-card rules decide whether either hand takes one more card. You do not need to know them; the table applies them for you.
- Player returns twice your chips. Banker returns 1.95 times, because it comes up slightly more often. Tie returns nine times.
- On a tie, chips on Player and Banker come back to you. Repeat places the same chips again; Clear empties the table.
Score table
| Player hand finishes higher | × 2 on chips on Player |
|---|---|
| Banker hand finishes higher | × 1.95 on chips on Banker |
| Both hands finish level | × 9 on chips on Tie; Player and Banker chips come back |
| Your side finishes lower | Nothing returned |
Design notes
The shoe holds eight decks and is reshuffled when about one deck is left. Banker is the closest to an even bet over a long run, Player is a touch behind, and Tie is the long shot.
